The process
Prepreg carbon fiber or glass fabric is wrapped onto a steel mandrel at the designed fiber angle. After curing, the tube is released from the mandrel and machined to its final outer diameter.
Because the wall is built ply by ply, the layup can be tuned to your load case rather than to a catalogue number — which is what makes the process suitable where wall thickness and roundness matter.
In this range
Carbon fiber tube, also known as CFRP tube, carbon fiber pipe, is made from carbon fiber composite materials or prepreg with polystyrene resin or epoxy resin, commonly forming by heating curing pultrusion or roll wrapped craft. The shape can be round, square or some irregular hollow tube. 3K surface is commonly seen in carbon fiber tube for better appearance.
